SUPL WRAP: KCCA FC, Maroons Register Wins On Second Round Opener
The 2022/23;StarTimes Uganda Premier League second round campaign returned this evening with two games on card.
Kampala City Council Authority Football Club and Maroons Football Club begun their second round campaign on a positive note after registering wins during their various encounters on Thursday 09/02/2023.
Busoga United FC 0-1 Maroons FC:
Maroons FC recorded their 4th win of the season as they defeated Busoga United 1-0 at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Following a goalless first half, Darius Ojok scored his first goal for the visitors in the 72 minutes to hand Maroons FC the march needed win.
Victory, temporarily lifted Maroons FC to the 9th place on 18 points from 15 games while Busoga United remain rooted in the second place from the bottom of the log on 9 points from 15 games.
Busoga United FC are back in action on Tuesday 21/02/23 as they visit Blacks Power at AkiBua stadium in Lira City while Maroons FC host Bright Stars FC at Luzira Maximum Prison Grounds on Friday 24/02/23.
Wakiso Giants FC 0-1 KCCA FC:
Elsewhere table toppers KCCA FC returned to their winning ways as they defeated Wakiso Giants FC 1-0 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium.
Rogers Mato’s lone goal from the stroke of the first half gave the Kasassiro Boys their 10th win of the season.
Victory saw KCCA FC temporarily extended their lead at the top of the log to 5 points clear above the second placed BUL FC with 32 points from 15 matches. While Wakiso Giants FC are sitting in the 4th place of the log on 25 points from 15 games.
Wakiso Giants FC are back in action on Wednesday 22/Feb/23 as they visit Vipers SC at St Mary’s stadium while KCCA FC host Arua Hill SC the next day at Philip Omondi stadium in their next encounter.
