According to reports the home fans felt there was a foul on Khalid Odagiu and the goal shouldn’t stand hence they opted to pelt stones, bottles and beating match officials thus forcing the security to intervene with teargas and bullets that reportedly left two kids dead forcing the match commissioner to abandon the match.
Paidha United SC released the following statement on their official Facebook page confirming the incident: “Tear gas filled barokoro and game abandoned in the 87th minute following a legitimate goal scored by PUSC. The home fans took to violence throwing stones, bottles and all dangerous objects on the field of play, attacking the match referees, breaking chairs and injuring players and officials of PUSC…as PUSC we condemn in the strongest terms hooliganism.. life is at stake and the team is trapped at barokoro as security continues in running battles with the home fans.”
