Bida Bags Brace As Onduparaka FC Crush Kigezi Homeboyz To Return To Winning Way
West Nile based StarTimes Uganda Premier League entity Onduparaka FC returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Kigezi Homeboyz at AbaBet Greenlight stadium in Arua City.
Bida Ezra bagged a magical brace while Samson Ceasor Okhuti was also on target to hand the Caterpillars their 8th win this campaign.
The Caterpillars started on high note and missed an opportunity to open the lead when Bida Ezra failed to tap home Ceasor Okhuti’s delivery in the 17th minute of kickoff.
Ten minutes later Bida broke the deadlock lock when he found the back of the net from a penalty kick after Mungufeni Jonathan was fouled by Kigezi’s defender Katamba Enock in the forbidden area.
Veteran striker Samson Ceasor Okhuti doubled the lead for the hosts with a thunderbolt from a 25 yard off Adriko Gasper’s cross to send the home crowds crazy as the Caterpillars settled for a 2-0 lead in the first stanza.
After the break the Gorillas looked to have come back stronger and failed to reduced the deficit when Mudali Derrick’s strike was well saved by Caterpillars custodian Dafala Yunus.
Bida Ezra then completed his own brace and the third for the Caterpillars after firing home from Mungufeni Jonathan’s cross for a 3-0 in the 75 minutes.
Substitute Ade Brain could have added the fourth from a free kick but his effort hit the woodwork before Rwothomio Derrick failed to score from the rebound in the 90 minutes as Caterpillars settled for a 3-0 win at the stoppage time.
Victory saw the Caterpillars leapfrogged the Caterpillars to the 7th place on 26 points level to Kigezi Homeboyz who are in the 8th position after 20 games.
Both teams are back in action on Sunday 7th April as Onduparaka FC visit Young Elephants at Anaka P/S Grounds while Kigezi Homeboyz host Kataka FC at Kabale Municipal Stadium.
