Kitara Crush 10-Man URA FC TO Move Four Points Clear At Top
Kitara Football Club moved four points clear at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table after crushing 10-Man URA FC 3-0 at Masindi Municipal Stadium on Thursday evening.
First half goals from Denis Omedi and Jude Semugabi plus a second half goal from Kabon Living “Messi” saw Kitara FC returned to their winning ways to register their 13th win this campaign.
The Tax Collectors who suffered their 6th defeat this season, played the rest of 32 minutes of the stoppage time with a man down after Ivan Ahimibisibwe was sent for a foul.
The hosts started the better side and were put ahead through their talisman Denis Omedi when he calmly tapped home Kabon Living’s delivery just four minutes from kickoff.
Jude Semugabi then doubled the lead for Brian Ssenyondo’s guns after heading home a superb corner kick delivery from Paul Mucureezi to hand the Royals a 2-0 lead in the interval.
13 minutes from break, URA FC were reduced to a man down when Ivan Ahimbisibwe received his marching orders after using his elbow against Paddy Muhumuza.
Before Kabon Living rounded off the score after adding the third in the second minute of added time to hand Kitara FC a 3-0 victory over URA FC.
It made a return to winning ways for the hosts after playing a goalless draw against Maroons last week on Friday 8th March at Luzira Maximum Prison Grounds.
Brian Ssenyondo’s guns boast a four-point (49 points) cushion over second-placed BUL FC (45 points) while URA FC remain seventh on the table with 31 points from 21 games.
Kitara FC are back in action on 29th March when they host BUL FC at Masindi Municipal Stadium while URA FC will host Vipers SC at Mehta Stadium the next day in their next encounter.
