Onduparaka Held To A Goalless Draw By SC Villa In Bombo
Onduparaka Football Club were held to 0-0 draw by Sports Club Villa during their Startimes Uganda Premier League match day two encounter played at a neutral ground in Bombo Military stadium on Friday evening.
The encounter was not played at Ababet Greenlight stadium in Arua as the Caterpillars continue to serve thier ban following fans hooliganism during West Nile derby vs Arua Hill SC last year.
This particular game didnot produce any real goal-scoring opportunities throughout the 90 with both teams struggling to find the back of the net.
The first attempt in anger and the only chance of a true substance in the first half came through James Jarieko in the 20th minute as his effort from Rashid Okocha’s delivery was well tipped by Villa’s custodian Elungat for a corner kick.
After the intervall the pace of the game increased as Ojara Denis and Gadafi Gadinho both tested Elungat through various free-kicks but failed to put the hosts ahead.
SC Villa finally registered an attempt on target in the added minute through Hassan Musana’s free-kick but his effort went wide.
In the end the two teams couldn’t be seperated as they had to settle for share of spoils.
The draw is Onduparaka’s second in a row leaving them in the 2nd place from the bottom of the log with no points after two games as they completed their two points deduction, Meanwhile SC Villa temporarily move to the 2nd place of the log with four points after two games.
