Arua Hill Get Sweet Revenge On KCCA FC
Arua Hill Sports Club gained sweet revenge as they defeated Kampala City Council Authority Football Club 3-1 during their Startimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at Barifa Stadium on Saturday evening.
A first-half goal from Isaac Ogwang and second half goals from Toha Rashid and Rashid Kawawa handed Charles Livingston Mbabazi’s guns their first win of the season and the first victory against KCCA FC.
Bright Vuni headed into the back of his own net to hand KCCA FC a consolation goal as the visitors succumed to their first defeat of the season.
It should be remembered that the Kasasiro Boys were the only team that defeated the Leopards at home last season and today’s win must be a sweet one for the Kongolos.
The Kongolo Boys dominated the possesion from the start and eventually got the opener through debutant Isaac Ogwang’s brilliant header from Rashid Toha’s well taken free-kick in the 12th minute for his first goal of the season for Arua Hill SC.
The visitors’ only chance in the first stanza came through Ashraf Mugume in the 22nd minute but his shot from close range went wide as Arua Hill SC settled for a 1-0 lead in first half.
Two minutes from the restart captain fantastic Tpha Rashid doubled the lead with a wonderfull header following an error from KCCA FC defense.
Before youngster Rashid Kawawa aka Olu put the game to bed after scoring the third goal to hand the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead in the 59th minute.
KCCA FC tried to comeback and eventually got a consolation goal through Bright Vuni’s own goal in the added minute but Arua Hill SC held on to earn a sweet revenge against KCCA FC who were the only team that defeated them at Barifa stadium last season.
Victory puts Arua Hill SC in the 5th place of the log with three points after a game meanwhile KCCA FC are in the sixth place of the table standings with equally three points but after two games.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday 22nd October when Arua Hill SC host Maroons FC while KCCA FC will entertain Vipers SC at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
