SC Villa Fight Back From 2-Nil Down To Complete A League Double Over Wakiso Giants
Sports Club Villa fought back from 2-nill deficit to defeat Wakiso Giants FC 3-2 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Sharks went in front against the Jogoos in the 40th minute when Andrew Kigozi slotted home past goalkeeper Wakorach to hand Wakiso Giants a 1-0 lead in the first stanza.
Six minutes from break, Hassan Ssenyonjo added a brilliant second with a curling finish from Sharif Kimbowa’s delivery.
SC Villa responded mid way through the second stanza with a wonderful header from Ronald Ssekiganda and then a fine penalty from Umar Lutalo in the 80th minute to level matters for the Jogoos.
Four minutes later Reagan Mpande scored the winner after slotting home to hand SC Villa a 3-2 win as they completed a league double over Wakiso Giants
Victory puts SC Villa in the 5th place in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log standings with 45 points after 25 games while Wakiso Giants are in the 12th place with 29 points from 25 games.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday 11th May when Villa visit UPDF FC at Bombo Military ground while Wakiso Giants host Mbarara City FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
