Newcomers Maroons Humiliate Busoga United To Make Flying SUPL Start
Maroons Football Club made a blistering return to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as they humiliated Busoga United 5-0 in their match day one encounter played at Luzira Prison Play grounds on Saturday evening.
Forward Fred Amaku was predictably their main tormentor as he bagged a magical brace in the first half (16th & 26th minutes respectively) to hand Paul Kiwanuka a poor start in charge of his pay masters Busoga United.
This was after debutant Isaac Mpagi opened his goal scoring account for the hosts as early as 11 minutes from the kickoff following Amaku’s delivery as Maroons settled for 3-0 lead in the first stanza.

After the break Nicholas Mweru came close to pulling a goal back but his header off Bashamu’s cross went over the bar before captain Derrick Basoga had his penalty kick saved by Maroons custodian Simon Tamale in the 65th minute.
Five minutes later Solomon Walusimbi made it 4-0 before debutant Noel Nasasira completed the damages with a brilliant header off Godwin Kitagenda’s cross in 74th minute as Maroons held to register victory over Busoga United.
Next Games:
Maroons are back in action on Tuesday 4th October at Kavuma Recreational Center while Busoga will host Blacks Power on Wednesday 5th October at Kakindu Municipal Stadium.
