
“It’s A Great Honour”- John Ongondia’s Reactions After Becoming Arua City FC Boss
John Peter Ongondia has spoken of his “Great Honour” after being unveiled as Arua City Football Club head coach.
Arua City Football Club on Sunday 2nd October officially confirmed John Ongodia as their new head coach ahead of the coming 2022/23 West Nile Regional League season.
The former Calvary FC assistant coach has inked a one-year emplyoyment contract that will keep him at the club until 2023 with an option to extend for further more years.
Speaking during his unveiling ceremony at Mayor’s hall in Arua Ongondia said: “It is a great honour to be appointed coach of Arua City fc and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead.”
“I have reached and understood about the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve if the management and players are ready to work together.”
Arua City FC chairman Lumu Musa who has led the search added: “Ongondia has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Uganda, renowned for his team’s attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth.”
John Ongondia replaces Hamza Olema whose contract was terminated recently.
He will be deputized by Faizul Abdallah while Apangu Rashid is the Technical Director with Ajai Phillip and Omar Muhammedin appointed as the new Public Relation Officer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) respectively.
