GARUGA SPRINT to Fundraise for DUSTY YUSUF BUKENYA.
The Federation of Motorsport Clubs in Uganda has on Wednesday Morning launched the GARUGA SPRINT and is set to break on 24th July 2022 at the Victoria Raceway Park in Entebbe Wakiso District.
The Second Sprint and Fifth Event on the FMU Calendar will have points tallied for the National Championship and also gather resources to buy a FORD FIESTA PROTO EVOLUTION 9 for Yusuf Bukenya.
Yusuf Bukenya whose Motoring Passion is traced from an early stage of 4 years,saw his Subaru Evo 9 commonly referred to as “DUSTY YUSUF BUKENYA” burnt down to ashes in the 2018 Fortportal rally forcing him to take a forced sabbatical from the game he hopes to write more history.
“Our target is to bring a new racing car for Yusuf that will compete with others in the current industry,our plan is purchasing a Ford Fiesta Evo 9” said Event Manager Keiz Kagolo.
FortPortal rally winner Umar Dauda ,Oscar Ntambi from Team Forest are some drivers who have put in entries to grace this event keeping in mind that it adds points on the log for a Podium Finish.
“We are going to treat it like any other big event because it adds points to the national championship and we call upon all fans to come in huge numbers” stated Reynolds Kibira,the Chairman Organising Committee.
An amount of about 70,000 US Dollars are benchmarked to ship the desired FORD FIESTA PROTO EVO 9 and Hariss International Limited through their brand,Rockboom Energy drink are hoping to give in 8,000 Dollars towards the cause to add on Pledges from Didas Mastiko (2 Million Ugandan Shillings),Mayor Keiz Ssali and other Well-Wishers.
