Onduparaka FC In Talks With Former Arua Hill SC Coach
Dribbler Sportz can authoritatively reveal that WestNile heavyweights Onduparaka Footbal Club are in talks with former Arua Hill SC coach Sadick Ssempigi with hopes of making him their next head coach ahead of the coming season.
Ssempigi is leaving relegated Mbarara City Football Club to join StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka Football Club according to a source close to the club.
“Ssempigi is in town and first negotiations were held yesterday between him and the management of Onduparaka FC,” a source from the club told DRIBBLER SPORTS on Thursday morning.
“The club is optimistic about reaching an agreement to work together.”
The position fell vacant at Ababet GreenLight Stadium last season when George Lutalo left the club following a poor run that saw the Caterpillars struggling in the relegation battle.
The WestNile based entity who have been in the market for a new coach were led by their technical director Dudu Bosco as he played a key role in helping the club survive relegation last season after taking over from George Lutalo.
The CAF B licensed gaffer previously worked as an interim coach in Mbarara City FC (2020/21) before being appointed as assistant coach under Livingston Mbabazi.
Sempigi and Mbabazi would later join the Kongolo Boys in the 2021/22 season but he left the club at the end of the first round citing unfavorable working conditions and salary arrears.
He then rejoined Mbarara City FC but failed to help the club survive relegation in StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season.
