BUL FC Cruise Past Vipers SC To Win Maiden Stanbic Uganda Cup Trophy

Eastern Gaints BUL Football Club have been crowned champions of the 2021/22 Stanbic Uganda Cup after defeating Vipers Sports Club 3-1 in the finals played at King George Stadium, Masindi on Sunday evening.
Karim Ndungu scored two stunning goals while Simon Peter Oketch was also on target to hand Eastern Gaints BUL FC their first ever Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy.
Skipper Halid Lwaliwa scored a consolation goal for Vipers SC as they were denied a second trophy after winning the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League tite.
Ndugwa opened the scoring against the run of play in the 28 minutes, nodding home from Reagan Kalyowa’s delivery.
Simon Peter Oketch doubled the lead after heading home Hillary Onek’s cross as BUL FC took a 2-0 lead in the interval.

Six minutes from the restart Karim Ndugwa completed his double and the third for BUL FC following a quick counterattack that was orchestrated by Oketch.
Vipers Sports Club pulled one back through skipper Halid Lwaliwa when he headed home in the 71st minute but that wasn’t enough as BUL FC held on the remaining minutes to beat Vipers 3-1.
Victory means Alex Isabirye’s guns were crowned champions of the 2021/22 Stanbic Uganda Cup and will symbolize Uganda in the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup.
Vipers Sports Club who missed the opportunity to win their second trophy will represent the nation in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League after winning the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title.
