Onduparaka FC Woes Continues With A Defeat To URA FC
Onduparaka’s hopes of surviving relegation from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League suffered another fatal blow after they were defeated 2-1 by Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club at Arena of Visions in Ndejje
Steven Mukwala and Ibrahim Dada scored in either halves of the encounter as URA FC returned to their winning ways after a hard fought victory agianst the Caterpillars leaving them just one point above relegation zone.
Mansoor Safi Agu bagged a consolation goal for Onduparaka FC as they were condemned to their 8th defeat.
Onduparaka FC got their first chance when Muhammad Shaban’s effort from close range was well saved by URA FC custodian Ajaib Nafian in the 31st minute.
Four minutes later Steven Mukwala broke the deadlock for the Tax Collectors after striking from close range for a 1-0 lead.
Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club were leading 1-0 at the interval.
Three minutes from the break, Mansoor Safi Agu equalized for Onduparaka FC from a well taken free-kick for a 1-1.
The Caterpillars were then all over URA as they wanted to get the lead of their own and it was again Muhammad Shaban who had his shot saved by custodian Alionzi Nafian in 63rd minute.
But URA FC were back in the lead in the 83rd minute when Ibrahim Dada nodded home Sserubiri Ivan’s delivery for a 2-1 win.
The result means URA FC remained in the 3rd place of the log but moved up to 38 points from 20 games while Onduparaka FC remain rooted in the 4th place from the bottom of the log with 18 points just a point above Mbarara City who are in the danger zone with 17 points from 19 games and have a match at hand tomorrow away to Wakiso Gaints FC.
