Super Sub Kabuye On Target As Arua Hill, UPDF Share Spoils In Bombo
Uganda Peoples Defense Force Football Club were held to a 1-1 draw with Arua Hill Sports Club in their StarTimes Uganda Premier League Matchday20 encounter played at Bombo Barracks on Wednesday afternoon.
Wamannah Ibrahim put the hosts ahead with his 45+2 minutes goal but substitute Steven Kabuye secured a point for the Kongolo Boys with his late goal.
The visitors had started well with Alfred Leku failing to find the back of the net following a delivery from Rashid Kawawa just 13 minutes from kickoff.
UPDF FC should have gone ahead but Ivan Ahimbisibwe missed to convert from a spot kick in the 30 minutes.
Ibrahim Wamannah broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 45+2 minutes as UPDF FC took a 1-0 lead at the interval.
Six minutes from break Samuel Ssekamate missed to break the deadlock for the Kongolo Boys as his effort was well saved by UPFC custodian Wasswa Yusuf.
Charles Livingston Mbabazi made a double substitution in the 60th minute introducing Steven Kabuye and Richard Matovu for Ibrahim Magandazi and Musisi Faruk respectively.
The substitutions worked as super substitute Steven Kabuye leveled matters for the Leapards for a 1-1 draw with just three minutes to the stoppage time.
The draw means UPDF FC remained in the 8th place of the log with 23 points from 20 games while Arua Hill SC are rooted in the 5th place of the log with 33 points from 29 matches.
