Upset As Injury-Depleted Adjumani Town Council Oust Record Champions Express FC To Reach Uganda Cup Semi Finals
FUFA Big League entity Adjumani Town Council FC caused an upset when they eliminated record Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Express FC in the quarter-finals at Paridi Stadium on Saturday.
Full of unhealthy squad after six players and assistant coach sustained injuries seven days ago when they were attacked by Kataka FC fans in Mbale, the Cocks pulled out a gaint-killing performance when they defeated The Red Eagles 2-0 to progress to the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi finals.
It was Ajiga Micheal and Swadiki Collensis who scored in either sides of the encounter to inspire Adjumani TC to the much needed win.
The win saw Adjumani Town Council reach the Semi Finals for the first time in history while UPL side Express FC crashed out of the lucrative tournament.
The Cocks now join fellow FUFA Big League side Police FC and UPL side Vipers SC as the third team to advance to the semi finals of the 2022/23 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday 18th April when Adjumani TC host Calvary in FUFA Big League WestNile derby at Paridi stadium while Express host Busoga United in their league action at Wankulukuku stadium.
