
Arua City Boxing Club Flagged Off For National Boxing Open Championship
The President of Arua City Boxing club Hon Oshino Rashid has this evening (Tuesday 28/02/23) assembled a total of five boxers for the National Boxing Open Championship in Kampala.
The team mainly of three girls and two boys from Arua City Boxing Club are on their way to Kampala ahead of the annual national event scheduled for 1st-9th March at MTN Arena Lugogo.
Captain Andama Bashir and Swadick Muhammed of National intermediate Bronze Medalist Welter Weight and Bantam Weight respectively are the two boys representing Arua City Boxing Club.
Meanwhile the three girls from Arua City Boxing Club are Saudah Muhammad, Arafat Ayike and Latifa Gift.

The 2023 National Boxing Open championship will comprise of Junior, Youth and Elite categories with Action Boxing set for 3rd-7th March, 8th March will be for the Womens Day Boxing events while 9th March is for the finals. All actions of the three events will kick start at 10am and climax 7pm.
For Starters: The National Boxing Championship is an annual event organized by Uganda Boxing Federation with the major aim of picking boxers to represent the nation for international events.
The seven-day event is expected to comprise of 40 bouts in the different weight categories with over 200 boxers from at least 40 clubs nation wide to take part.
