Adriko Rogers’ Hat-trick Ends UPDF’s Winnless Run
Uganda Peoples Defense Force Football Club ended a run of ten league games without a victory as they defeated Gadaffi Football Club 3-1 at Bombo Military Ground on Wednesday afternoon.
Adriko Rogers bagged a hat-trick to hand UPDF FC their second win of the season while Brian Kalumba scored a consolation goal for Gadaffi FC who succumbed to their 5th defeat this campaign.
Adriko scored twice from penalty in the 4th and 35th minutes for the hosts as UPDF FC took a 2-0 lead in the first stanza.
Brian Kalumba pulled one back for the visitors in the 84th minute but Adriko Rogers made it 3-1 after completing his own hat-trick at the stroke of the stoppage time.
Victory temporarily lifts UPD FC out of the drop zone and into the 12th place of the log with 10 points from 13 games while Gadaffi FC are in the 7th place on 18 points after 13 matches.
Gadaffi FC are back in action on Tuesday 20th December as they host URA FC at Kakindu Municipal while UPDF FC visit Onduparaka FC at Ababet Greenlight stadium the next day in their next encounter.
