
KCCA FC Return To Winning Ways With a 1-0 Victory Over Vipers SC
After the 3-1 thumping by Arua Hill Sports Club recently, Kamapala City Council Authority Football Club returned to their winning ways as they edged out rivals Vipers Sports Club 1-0 at Phillip Omondi Stadium on Saturday evening.
A goal from Roger Mato ensured under pressure coach Morley Byekwaso picked up his second win of the season.
This was Vipers second game of the season and their first defeat this campaign.
Mato brilliantly headed home Allan Okello’s delivery from the left wing to hand the Kasasiro Boys a 1-0 lead just seven minutes from the kickoff.
Vipers SC missed a chance to equalize through Youngman as his effort from Mandela’s cross went wide in 20 minutes.
Denis Iguma came close to doubling the lead for KCCA FC but his attempt from the distance went inches off the upright in the 39th minute as KCCA took a 1-0 lead in the first half.
After the restart Hillary Mukande could have leveled matters for Vipers SC but his header from Bright Anukani’s free kick went inches wide.
Yunus Sentamu also had an opportunity to equalize in the 77 minutes but his effort found the side of the net as KCCA FC settled up to pick maximum points against rivals Vipers SC.
Wih this win, KCCA FC have moved to fourth spot on the log with six points after three games while Vipers remain in third place from the bottom of the log with a point from two games.
What Next?
KCCA FC are back in action away to Maroons FC on October 28 at Luzira, while Vipers equally host Maroons at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on November 4 in their next encounter.
