FMU puts House in order ahead of Continental Championship.
The Federation of MotorSport Clubs in Uganda has acknowledged positivity by initiating a generation HANDSHAKE, a step that cleanes its house ahead of the 2022 MotorCross of African Nations.
In a generation HandShake that happened on Thursday Morning in Kampala, the Federation led by President Dipu Rupareila decided to reunite with a group of MotorCross Parents and Riders who were on quest for self governance.
The Past two years have seen a group in the umbrella of MotorCycling Association Uganda (MAU) led by Barack Orlando operate against the Federations’ constitution by participating in unsanctioned events in Busiika to compete with the National Rally Championship.
“For the last months,Many riders have been affected by the rift and as governors,we had to find a way to bring this impasse to an end”.. stated FMU President Dipu Rupareila.
The move targets putting the FMU house in order to witness the growth of MotorSport in the country as FMU President adds, “Today,we turn a leaf,we start the healing that inflicted agony on MotorCross,We stand as one MotorCross Fraternity,One MotorCross Family and One MotorCross Country”.
The Reunion bears fruits like
•Integrating Busika Events on the FMU Calendar
•Riders participating in Foreign Events
•Joint Management of the Calendar
The Reconciliation comes at a time when the National Council of Sports refused to dispatch allocated Funds to the FMU account not only if they settle discrepancies.
The handshake means the FMU house is ready to receive funds from government which will among others help in organising the 2022 FIM MOTORCROSS of Africa Nations that will happen from 19th-21st August at the Victoria Raceway Track in GARUGA.
