
DONE DEAL: Maroons FC Confirm 11th Signing For 22/23 Campaign
Newly promoted StarTimes Uganda Premier League outfit Maroons Football Club have completed the signing of goalkeeper Simon Tamale ahead of the coming 2022/23 season.
Tamale joins the One Force Army from Bright Stars Football Club.
This development was announced on Tuesday via the club’s official social media sites.
“Maroons FC is pleased to announce the signing of shot stopper Simon Tamale from Bright Stars FC,” reads part of club statement.
Tamale opened up about his move.
“I like everything about Maroons, this is a great club with a rich history and they play splendid entertaining football,” Tamale told maroonsfc.co.ug
“With Senfuma, Maroons are growing more and more. He is putting in place a young team that will feed the team for the future, that also remains an important factor in making my decision.”
“I am clear I want to play not be on the bench but I know the situation here being stiff competition from already established Akol and Nalugoda. It’s the first time in my career to be coached by two Goal Keeping coaches, I will be much interested to see how I can learn from them and them learning from me,” he concluded.
Head Coach Senfuma Mohammed added: “We are delighted to bring Tamale to Luzira.”
“He is one of the best young goalkeepers in the country and he is an important addition to the squad for next season and the coming seasons.”
“He is a formidable goalkeeper who rose to stardom following his impressive skills at Bright Stars. His calm, clearheaded nature on the pitch has immensely impacted his success in the football stage,” he concluded.
The shot-stopper has previously played for Lungujja Galaxy, Police FC and Bright Stars FC.
He turns into membership the 11th signing for Maroons FC after the arrivals of Isaac Mpagi, Lawrence Tezikya, David Ndihabwe, Brian Nkubi, Jacob Okao, Samson Kigozi, Arafat Kakonge, Noel Nassasira, Umar Kyebatala and Frederick Kigozi.
In a bid to bolster their squad, The club have already extended the contracts of midfieder Felix Keita Okot, goalkepeer Emmanuel Akol and defender Ceasar Sahni Olega and central midfielder Ronald Orombi.
