
Vipers SC Sign Nigerian striker
Vipers Sports Club have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Abubakar Lawal ahead of the coming season.
Lawal joins the Venoms from Rwanda Premier League entity AS Kigali.
He has put pen to paper on a two-year employment contract that will keep him at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende until 2024, the club have confirmed on Monday.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian striker Abubakar Lawal on a two-year employment contract, that will keep him at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende up to atleast 2024,” reads club statement.
“I feel happy and at home. They have showed me love ever since l arrived here,” Lawal told Vipers SC website.
“I’m here to give my best. I know the club hasn’t been in the CAF Champions League group stages. So, am here to help and fight to make that dream come true, Inshallah.”
The 26-year-old has previously played in the Nigerian Premier League with Kano Pillars FC, Wikki Tourists FC, FC Nasarawa and most recently AS Kigali in Rwanda.
He turns into membership the 8th signing for Vipers SC after the arrivals of Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, Olivier Omadjondo Osomba, Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Ashraf Mandela and Abdu Lumala.
