
Uganda Cranes’ 2022 CHAN Qualifying Opponent Revealed
Uganda Cranes’ opponents for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 qualifiers have been annouced.
Uganda will lock horns with the winner between Somali and Tanzania in the second round of qualifiers.
The Cranes who got a bye in the first round of the Central East Zone that comprises of four countries Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somalia, and Tanzania will begin their qualifying campaign against winners between Somali and Tanzania.
The TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2023 was originally scheduled to be played from 10 July to 1 August 2022. Nonetheless, Caf rescheduled it to January 2023, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
CHAN is the competition which brings together players who compete in their respective domestic leagues.
For the first time in the history of the competition, 18 teams will participate in the next final tournament set to take place in Algeria in January and February 2023.
Morocco are defending champions after defeating Mali in the final of the 2021 edition staged in Cameroon.
