Busoga United Return To Winning Ways With A Huge Win Over Wakiso Gaints To Gain Survival Boost
Busoga United FC gave themselves hopes of StarTimes Uganda Premier League survival as they returned to their winning ways with a huge 2-1 win over Wakiso Gaints at Kakindu Municipal Stadium on Monday evening.
After a goalles draw in the first-half, Niwamanya Dickson broke the deadlock for Busoga United in the 52nd minute when he tapped home Tibiita Laban’s delivery for a 1-0 lead.
Busoga United’s skipper Mayanja Anthony leveled matters for Sports Club Villa as he scored in his own net just 4 minutes to the stoppage time for a 1-1 draw.
Before Kaddu scored in his own net to hand Busoga United the much needed win as they keep fighting for their lives in the top-tier league.
Victory means Busoga United leapfrogged Gaddafi FC to the 12th place of the log with 29 points from 27 matches while Wakiso Gaints FC are in the 7th place of the log with 36 points from 27 matches.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday 7 May when Busoga United visit KCCA FC at Phillip Omondi while Wakiso Gaints challenge Police FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Uganda Police FC 0-0 SC Villa:
Elsewhere Uganda Police Football Club and Sports Club Villa dropped more points after playing to a goalless draw at Phillip Omondi Stadium on Monday evening.
The draw means Police FC remained in the 3rd place from the bottom of the log with 25 points from 27 marches while SC Villa are in the 11th place of the log with 29 points from 27 games.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday 7 May as Police visit Wakiso Gaints FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso while SC Villa host champions Vipers SC at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
