FUFA super 8 result: Aliro’s double sends URA FC to the semi final of FUFA super 8.
Uganda Revenue Authority football club defeated Soltilo Bright Stars 2-1 to reach the last four of the super 8 after a hard fought home win.
Uganda Revenue Authority had to skip the early scare by Soltino Bright Stars to book their place in the semi final of the super 8 cup a game played on Friday afternoon at Mehta stadium in Lugazi.
Bright Stars took the lead Via Noordin Bunjo’s 6 minutes cool and calm strike after a quick counter on the left flank by Ashraf Mulindi.
The tax collectors was presented with an opportunity to equalize when Semujju found himself one on one with the goalie but had to put it wide over the bar.
URA had to celebrate a goal which was scored by Laban after Semujju cut back but was later cancelled for the ball rolling off the line.
The tax collectors continues to pile pressure with chances after which saw Begisa and Kimbowa all coming close to scoring but all the chances went begging.
But shortly after Moses Aliro’s calm loop over Bright stars’ had to level matters for the tax collectors at the half hour mark in the first half.
Both sides went for the half time break with leveled up.
After the resumption of the second half URA side had to make substitution with Lubwama making way for Norman Namanja who was presented with a another chance shortly after coming in the 72 minutes but his effort just outside the box went against inches of the Cross bar.
URA FC had to take the lead in the 77th minutes courtesy of Aliro who completed his brace with a silky smooth finish at the back of the net.
Joseph Harold Mutyaba’s men (Bright Stars) had to pile more pressure on Uganda Revenue Authority with fresh legs with Issa Bugembe and Shaffick coming in for Mathias Okwalinga and Tumwiine Godwin respectively which increased the tensity of the match continues but the tax collectors had to keep it tight and HD to to hold till the last whistle of the match to maintain the win.
At the end of the match the match the match winner Aliro Moses express his happiness through his social media platforms including Facebook fans and the whole team for the hard work and the support given which enabled them to achieve the win.
Super 8 cup is played by the top 8 teams in the Uganda premier league where Viper’s is the defending champion but was ejected out in the quarter final after suffering a 1-0 defeat to BUL FC at a match played at Njeru and the solo goal was scored by striker Samuel Kayongo Sekamake.
