
West Nile Regional League Entity Araka FC Up For Sale, Al Jehid Business Enterprise LTD Makes Bid
West Nile Regional League entity Araka Football Club is up for sale and could be taken soon by a new owner ahead of the new campaign.
This development comes after the club’s board of trustees sat on Monday morning at Bondea restaurant for an another extraordinary meeting about the future of the club, financial status and the next investments.
However after agreeing and deciding to put the club for sale, news reaching our desk indicates that Al Jehid Business Enterprise Limited have submitted a 100% proposal to buy Araka Football Club.
According to a reliable source, the ownership transfer deal will be closed this week as both parties have already agreed to the deal.
Al Jehid Business Enterprise Limited a Yumbe based business firm is expected to pay 5 million Ugandan Shillings to purchase the ownership of the club that has for long been registered as a community organization club headed by board of trustees.
The deal will see Araka Football Club and it’s location remain unchanged and the company Al Jehid is expected to spend at least 30Million Ugx in the first three years starting this August.
Araka Fc board of trustees and it’s members are will get 30% shares in case of any future sales. Meanwhile Al Jehid will take full responsibility of recruitments and developments of the club and will be liable for future debts.
Ahead of the new season, The Black Lions have already completed the signing of Munduga Ismail, Adriano Muttu, and Jojo Jeseph.
The club is also reportedly set to sign Hamza Olema aka Hamzata as their new head coach for the new season.
For Starters: Araka FC is a community based club that was formed as Yumbe Town Council FC and got rebranded to Araka FC in 2023 under the management of local businessman Abdulrazak Musa. The club is located in Yumbe District and they hosts their games in Boma play Grounds.
The name Araka FC was given by late Vuni Tiger it literally means “high Performance team” and In 2005 under a new chairman Mr Aguta Sam the club failed to qualify to the regional league after losing the Zonal League finals to Koboko based Senke FC thus leading the downfall of the club for almost a decade.
In 2017 under the new leadership of Eng Siriba Hafizu a rebirth was handed to club and they got registered to the 4th division the same year the earned a nickname as the “Black Lions” and the club completed the 4th division unbeaten before being eliminated in Zonal play-offs that was played in Moyo District.
The next year the club earned sporting promotion to West Nile regional League after emerging as runners up in the 2018 West Nile Regional League Zonal play-offs played in Pakwach and has since remained in the third tier league for over five years.
