Uganda Martyrs Crowned Champions Of 2022/23 FUFA Women’s Cup
Uganda Martyrs Lubaga have been crowned champions of 2022/2023 FUFA Women’s cup after stunning She Maroons 1-0 in the finals played at Bishop Maraka College ground Kumi on Saturday.
Skipper Catherine Nagadya bagged the only goal of the encounter to hand Uganda Martyrs their first FUFA Women’s cup title.
Following a goalless first half Catherine Nagadya handed the Lubaga based entity their first silver wear as she found the back of the net in 78th minute.
Uganda Martyrs held on the remaaining minutes to ensure a 1-0 victory over She Maroons at the final whistle.
The result ensured Uganda Martyrs to be crowned winners of the fourth edition of FUFA Women’s cup while She Maroons will have to wait till next year if they’re to clinch their first silver wear.
Uganda Martyrs now Olila High School (2017), UCU Lady Canons (2018) and Makerere University (2019) as other teams to have won the women’s show-piece.
