
Kochi Urban Shock Nebbi Central To Be Crown Champions Of West Nile Regional League
Mule Emmanuel scored the only goal of the clash as Nebbi Central FC suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Kochi Urban FC in West Nile regional league play off at Green light stadium.
The West Nile regional league play off played on Sunday afternoon between Kochi urban FC and Nebbi central FC at the green light stadium saw the two sides each determined to win the West Nile regional trophy which at the end went in favour of Kochi Urban FC.
The two sides who both finished on top of their respective zones with Nebbi municipal based see Nebbi central FC finishing on top in the Nyagak zone while Moyo district based side in Kochi urban topped the Nile zone.
The highly contested battle that was to determine the overall champion of the West Nile region in the regional league started with both sides pressing hard the moment the first whistle was blown.
Nebbi Central had the chance to get something as early as the 1st minute of the game from a free kick just inches away from the 18 Yard box for a foul on a raster but Ayo was unable to do so with the skipper ‘s poor attempt going off target.
Nebbi Central kept on pressing Kochi Urban forcing many fouls with one in the 10th minutes a well taken free kick was saved by the Kochi Urban shot stopper with the the rebound fired wide by Nebbi Central.
In the12th minutes Nebbi Central went close to scoring through Messi’s close range attempt who was denied by Kochi goalie.
Nebbi Central had to be punished in the 17th minutes when Mulema Nue’s powerful left footed strike inside the box went past Jakisa the Central keeper who had no options but only to stand and see the ball going to top corner of the net.

Due to the strong sun heat, the players had to go for a water break in the 25th minutes of the match before resumption.

Both sides continue creating chance after chances but failed to capitalise on the opportunities which ended in the two sides being separated by Mulema’s half time goal.
The result qualifies Kochi Urban FC as West Nile representative for the final regional league play off against winner from Northern region to determine who to represent northern Uganda in the big league next season.
The northern regional league play off will be between Lira City FC and Young Elephant FC.
Nebbi central FC who were looking to qualify for the big league suffered 1-0 defeat to Kochi Urban FC the same score line last season after they were shocked by Adjumani Town Council FC when they lost 1-0 at the same play ground that is green light stadium.
