UPDF Left Back Douglas Oyirwoth Hands KCCA FC Third Consecutive Draw
Kampala City Council Authority Football Club were held to third consecutive draw with a relegation threatened Uganda Peoples Defense Force Football Club turning in an impressive performance to settle for 1-1 draw on Sunday evening.
Douglas Oyirwoth’s strike on 90+1 minutes ensured spoils are shared as both teams settled for 1-1 stalemate during the first game played under floodlights at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Substitute Tshisungu Kankonde had appeared to give the Kassasiro Boys the win when he headed home Muhammad Shaban’s cross in the 57 seventh minutes.
Both teams had an opportunity to score in the first half but neither could find the back of the net and had to settle for a goalless draw at the interval.
After the break, KCCA FC gaffer Morley Byekwaso introduced forward Kankonde Tshisungu for skipper Julius Poloto.
The substitution paid off when Tshisungu opened the lead for KCCA FC in the 57 minutes as he headed home Shaban’s delivery.

Tshisungu twice thought he had completed his own brace and the second for KCCA FC but his overhead strike was ruled off for a foul in the build up and awarded UPDF a free kick in their box with the other being ruled out for offside.
Douglas Oyirwoth could have levelled matters for UPDF FC but his effort was brilliantly saved by KCCA FC custodian Derrick Ochan in the 90 minutes.

Moments later Oyirwoth ensured spoils are shared when he restored parity as he brilliantly found the back of the net with what could turn out to be a contender for the goal of the season in the 90+1 minutes.
The draw ensured UPDF FC remain in the 12th place on the log standings with 22 points from 21 games while KCCA FC are in the 2nd position on 38 points after 19 games.
Next on cards for UPDF FC is a home league game on Wednesday 19th against Vipers SC at Bombo Military ground while KCCA FC will visit Bright Stars on Sunday 16th at Kavuma Recreation Center in the Stanbic Uganda Cup finals before facing URA FC at Mehta stadium on Wednesday 19th in their next league encounter.
