Arua hill SC escape an early scare to grab all the maximum points against 10 men Gaddafi FC thanks courtesy of Media double.
The highly contested Uganda premier league match between Arua hill SC and Gaddafi FC on Saturday 22nd April 2023 took place at Barriffa stadium in Arua city home to Arua hill SC.
The match started with a lot of tension as both sides were desperate for the three points which pressure from both sides but the away team took advantage of an error to take the lead in the 5mins through a nice finish from Kitaata Alex who slotted the ball into the back of the net
But the home team(Arua hill SC) had to pile more pressure with Media Innocent coming to scoring through a powerful header only to be denied by the Gaddafi goalies fantastic save in the 9th minutes but it didn’t take long for the information striker to register his name on the score sheet when he lifted the ball over the goal keeper to equalize for the home team in the 12th minutes.
The Kongolos continued to pile more pressure leading to the Gaddafi Skipper being booked at the half hour mark.
But nothing much was witnessed in the last few minor the first half were the score line remained the same..
But shortly after the resumption of the second half, Gaddafi FC were reduced to ten men after Blonde Elvis was shown the matching orders in the 46th minutes for an open boot tackle on Allan Mugalu ‘s chest.
This made the away team to play most of the second half with nine men and still pilled some pressure on the home team.
The Kongolos tactician in Livingston mbabazi had to make double change immediately after the resumption of second half bringing in Gaddafi Sahab and Brian Insurance for Faizul Ibrahim and Jacob kamwesiga respectively.
The home team thought they had taken the lead in the 52nd minutes when Media placed the ball at the back of the net only to be flagged offside.
The home team were forced to make an early substitution bringing in the skipper Rashid Toha following an injury to center back.
Toha shortly came close to scoring but his header went off target.
The Kongolos had to count on the on form Innocent Media who had to put them in front after netting his double of the game in the 61st minutes.
He however was unable to complete his hat trick after a double substitution in the 82nd minutes.
After the game Innocent Media was voted as player of the match.
The 2-1 loss was the first loss for Gaddafi FC in arua.
This was Arua hill second win in a row following the recent 1-0 win away to express home Wankulukuku
The 2-1 win result leave Arua hill SC in the 5th position on the log with 33 points with next match against vipers on 25th April 2023 meanwhile Gaddafi FC 7th position on 29th points and next match is against KCCA FC.
