Okello’s Brace Earns Lango Province A 2-2 Draw With Tooro Province In FUFA DRUM SemiFinal First Leg
Lango Province came from behind to salvage a point as they played to a 2-2 draw against Tooro Province in the first leg of the FUFA DRUM semi-finals played on Sunday evening at St Paul’s Seminary in Fort Portal.
Allan Okello scored a magical brace as Lango Province walked home with two precious away goals ahead of the return match next month at Aki Bua stadium in Lira City.
Meanwhile Marvin Youngman and Benjamin Nyakoojo scored for Tooro Province who failed to utilize their home advantage and will have to work extra hard if they are to make to the finals of this showpiece.
Following a goalless first half, Youngman put the hosts ahead with a brilliant effort striking at the far end of Lango Province post for a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute.
Allan Okello leveled matters for the visitors through a wonderful curl from the far end of the left wing in the 73rd minute.
Three minutes later, Benjamin Nyakoojo restored the lead for Tooro Provine after heading home Byamukama’s cross for a 2-1 lead.
But Tooro Province surrendered their lead at the stroke of the stoppage time when skipper Timothy Musinguzi handled the ball inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot and Allan Okello converted to ensure Lango Province earned a point as they settled for a 2-2 draw.
Lango Province are now halfway through to the finals of the third edition of the FUFA DRUM but a tough second-leg encounter against Tooro Province at Akibua Stadium in Lira City awaits them on 11th December 2022.
