
OFFICIAL: Vipers SC Crowned Champions After 3-0 Win Over Express FC
Vipers Sports Club were confirmed champions of the 2021/2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) after defeating defending champions Express FC 3-0 at St Mary’s stadium on Friday evening.
The Red Eagles needed a win to delay Venoms celebrations but the hosts put up an impressive performance courtesy of a magical brace from Yunus Sentamu and a goal from Bright Anukani.
Vipers SC 3-0 Express FC:

Sentamu broke the deadlock for the hosts after slotting home Milton Karisa’s delivery for a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute.
10 minutes later, Yunus Ssentamu completed his own brace and the second for Vipers SC when he headed home Hilary Mukundane’s cross to settle for a 2-0 lead at the interval.
After the break Bright Anukani put the game to bed after striking from Milton Karisa’s cross as Vipers SC held on to beat Express FC 3-0.
The result leaves Vipers SC 14 points clear of 2nd placed KCCA FC with just four games left for both teams. Express FC meanwhile remained in the 6th place of the log with 42 points from 27 marches.
Vipers’ triumph was their fifth league titles having won in 2009/10, 2014/15, 2017/18, 2019/20 and the first under head coach Robertinho Oliviera.
The Venoms are back in action on Tuesday 3rd away to Onduparaka FC at Ababet GreenLight Stadium in Arua City while Express FC host BUL FC at Wankulukuku Stadium on Saturday 7th May.
Tooro United FC 0-2 KCCA FC:

Elsewhere Sadat Anaku scored a brace as KCCA FC completed a double over Tooro United following a 2-0 win at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.
Victory leaves the Kasassiro Boys in the 2nd place of the log with 50 points from 26 games while Tooro United are rooted at the bottom of the log with 10 points from 27 matches.
Tooro United are back in action on Friday, 6th May away to Gaddafi FC at Gaddafi Barracks while KCCA FC hosts Bright Stars at Phillip Omondi on Tuesday, 3rd May.
UPDF FC 1-0 URA FC:

Lastly, Abang Crowmwell Rwothomio scored the only goal of the clash as URA FC stun UPDF FC 1-0 at Bombo Military Barracks Ground on Friday evening.
The result means URA FC remained in the third place of the log with 49 points from 27 matches while UPDF FC are in the 9th place of the log with 33 points from 27 matches.
URA FC are back in action on Saturday, 7th May as they host Bright Stars at Arena of Visions in Ndejje while UPDF FC visit Mbarara City FC at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara the next day.
