
WestNile 4th Division Side Leo FC Unviel New Kits, Plans & 10 Signings For The New Campaign
West Nile fourth division side have officially unvieled their new Kits, plans as well as ten signings for the 2021/2022 season.
Lise Harmon, Hamid Abdu, Guma Godfrey, Maxima Vincent, Mubarak Swali, Odama Brain, Oke Junior, Exama Ronald, Daniel Lati and Adima Tomaka Mustapha were all unvieled by the club today at Habitat Hotel in Arua City.
Speaking during the media launch, club chairman Eyoma Eyotre Moses said their plan is to see the club in the top-flight within four years time.
“Our main target is building a brand with a natural growth thus qualifying from one stage to another,” Eyotre told reporters.
“We have a four years plan to play in the top tier league of Uganda Premier League but the immediate plan is to qualify to the regional league.”
Asked about the challenges the club is facing, Eyotre said: “Our budget is small and it can be handled. I would like to say there’s no much challenges with the finance at this level we’re in.”
“The only challenge the team is facing is the unnatured players because we have them on commitment levels.”
Meanwhile, Leo FC head coach Samson Ceasor Okhuti is happy to be part of the team despite being committed to Arua Hill Sports Club.
“I must say at the moment I’m still a trainee at Arua Hill Sports Club but they have given me the opportunity to also work with Leo Football Club. It’s first of ts kind for such a young club to call for a press conference in the 4th tier league. So a team that has such ambitions I must say I’m happy to be part of it.”
For Starters Leo Football Club is a club that is campaigning in the Fourth Division league in Arua. The club was started in 2016 by a team of trainees who could come and train after work. The Club Chairman Ayoma Eyotre Moses got impressed after helping the club with 10000 shillings and realized how much that the 10k helped the club. He then decided to register the team as Iwabiyo Cell FC in the 5th Division but club failed to earn promotion to the 4th Division.
In 2017 the club rebranded to Leo FC after buying 100% shares from Ragem FC in the 4th Division. They currently host their games at Salim Saleh Grounds in Mvara.
