KCCA FC To Symbolize Uganda In 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup
Kampala City Council Authority Football Club have confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup tournament.
The Kassasiro Boys will symbolize Uganda in the upcoming continental show-piece, the club have announced on Friday.
“This is to inform all our stakeholders that #KCCAFC has today, sent in its confirmation to @OfficialFUFA confirming participation in the CAF Confederation Cup for season 2023/24,”reads club statement on Twitter
This development puts an end to speculations suggesting that KCCA FC had considered not to take part in the tournament due to financial problems.
Uganda’s slots for the continental tournament are taken by Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup winners who will represent the country in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation cup respectively.
However, since Vipers Sports Club completed a historical double this campaign, they couldn’t represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup but will instead be playing in the CAF Champions League.
This makes KCCA FC who finished the just concluded season in the second place to earn an automatic place from the Federation to represent Uganda in CAF Confederation Cup tournament.
