CONFIRMED: Kitara FC Part Ways With Head Coach
The Royals have confirmed that former Uganda Cranes tactician Sam Ssimbwa has departed his role.
Kitara FC have announced that they have parted ways with head coach Sam Ssimbwa ahead of the coming season.
Following Ssimbwa’s departure, a club statement read:
“Kitara football club have announced that they have parted company with head coach Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana.”
“Ssimbwa took over the Royals at the start of February after the first round of the FUFA Big league and was officially unveiled before the fans at the Kigaaya playgrounds.”
Having joined the Royals less than five months ago Ssimbwa managed 17 games at the helm for Kitara, winning 8, drawing seven and losing twice in all competitions.
He lead Kitara FC to their first ever title as they won the 2022/23 FUFA Big League champions that earned Kitara FC an immediate return to the top tier league.
The club president Deo Kasozi Akiiki said it was a difficult, careful and considerate decision to let go of the gaffer.
“This was a difficult decision, but after careful decisions and considerations, we finally agreed to make a change. We want to thank Sam Ssimbwa for everything he has done for Kitara football club and wish him the best in him future endeavors,” said club president, Deo Kasozi Akiiki.
