
University Football League Defending Champions all out to defend Legacy
Uganda Christian University will go all out in attack against Uganda Matyrs’ University to defend crown of ten year Pepsi sponsored university Football League.
In the First leg Semi-final slated for Thursday 20th October 2022 at 3:00 pm in Mukono,the Defending Champions tactician Collines Ahumuza says they are on this stage not to just play football but also replicate history.
“All the teams that are at this stage are good teams but we believe we have what it takes and shall win. It won’t be an easy win for us but the boys are focused and we know what we want as a team,” said Collines Ahumuza.
This will be the eighth meeting between both teams but although Uganda Matyrs’ University has the Upper Advantage,Coach Collines Ahumuza is not afraid to state,
“the boys are ready and looking forward to the game. We have prepared well and the boys are fit and ready,” added energetic Ahumuza.
Uganda Christian University knocked out Nkumba University on a 2-0 aggregate score to earn a semi-final berth where as opponents Uganda Matyrs’ University were involved in a slim 3-2 advantage against Bugema University to get here.
The 2017 Champions,Uganda Matyrs’ University will start at first fixing broken pieces since a couple of legs in their squad are out injured and Thursday’s Fixture might have come early.
“We are not taking our opponents as a light team. They are the defending champions and are one of the best teams in the league so we shall have to play well to get a positive result from Mukono,” said Uganda Matyrs’University Coach Eric Kisuze.
