
Bright Stars Come From 2 Goals Down To Salvage A Point At URA FC For Their 5th Consecutive Draw
Bright Stars came from two goals down to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw during their StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at Nakisunga Saza ground on Wednesday evening.
James Bagisa and George Ssenkaba scored in either half of the clash for the Tax Collectors as Bright Stars trailed 2-0 in the 49 minutes.
But second half goals from Nelson Senkatuka and Emmanuel Loli ensured Bright Stars rallied from two goals to deny URA FC maximum points as they recorded their 5th consecutive draw.
URA FC started the better side and could have gone ahead through Ssenkaba but his effort was parried away for a corner kick just 13 minutes from kickoff.
Kabon Living Messi also came close to breaking the deadlock for the hosts but he was denied by Bright Star’s custodian Hassan Matovu.
Before James Bagisa opened the lead for the hosts with just two minutes left for the break after heading home Saidi Kyeyune’s free kick to hand URA FC a 1-0 lead in the first stanza.
Four minutes from the break George Ssenkaba doubled the lead for Tax Collectors with powerful strike from a close range after Matovu had punched out Dada’s effort.
Bright Stars responded through Nelson Senkatuka who pulled one back with a wonderful strike from close range after custodian Alionzi Nafian had punched out Loki’s effort in the 66 minutes.
Emmanuel Loki leveled matters for the visitors as he headed home James Odongo’s cross just two minutes to the stoppage time to ensure share of spoils at Nakisunga Saza grounds.
