Robertinho: Tanzanian Giants Simba SC Appoint Ex-Vipers SC Tactician As New Head Coach
Tanzanian Giants Simba Sports Club have announced the appointment of Roberto Oliviera alias Robertinho as their new head coach.
The former Vipers Sports Club boss replaces Zoran Manoljovic who was in charge of the club on interim basis after The Msimbazi Streets parted ways with Spaniard Pablo Franco Martin.
Robertinho has put pen to paper on a two-year employment contract that will keep him at Benjamin Mkapa stadium until 2025. The club confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday 3rd, January 2023.
“Welcome to the big Simba SC family, Coach Roberto Oliviera ‘Robertinho’,” read the club statement Twitter.
The Brazilian’s contract was terminated by Vipers Sports Club on 29/12/2022 after reports recently circulated on social media that he had already completed a move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
The gaffer had joined the Venoms from Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia in August 2021 as Fred Kajoba’s replacement.
He left the Venoms after a hugely successful spell where he guided the club to the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League title and the 2020/21 Uganda Cup and also led the Venoms to the 2022/23 CAF Champions League group stages for the first time in the club’s history.
