Tooro United Football Club have added more woes to Onduparaka Football Club as they returned to their winning ways on Tuesday afternoon.
A solitary goal from Muhammad Senoga handed the Roaring Lions their second win of the season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League when they defeated Onduparaka FC 1-0 at Buhinga Stadium.
The opening 45 minutes was a half largely dominated by the Caterpillars as they controlled the possession stakes and dictated the flow of the game.
Ronald Mubiru came close to opening the lead for the visitors but his effort was deflected for a corner kick in the opening 30 minutes.
Moments later January signing Norman Ogik missed the chance to put the visitors ahead as his effort hit the woodwork to deny the visitors a lead.
There were no goals in the opening half but the hosts had a slow start coming from the tunnel.
In the second half, Tooro United were awarded a penalty after Onduparaka FC defender Rogers John fouled Muhammad Senoga inside the box.
Senoga then opened his goal scoring account for the Roaring Lions by converting the resultant spot kick to hand Tooro United a 1-0 lead.
Onduparaka FC controlled possession after that, but produced very little in the final third in terms goal mouth chances as Tooro United held on for a 1-0 win at the final whistle.
The result confirms Tooro United remained at the bottom of the log with 7 points after 16 games. Onduparaka FC also remained in the 4th place from the bottom of the log with 14 points after 16 games.
