First-Half Blitz Hands Express FC 3-1 Win Over UPDF FC
Express FC returned to their winning ways as they put UPDF FC to sword with three goals in the first half at Wankulukuku stadium on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Joshua Musoke, Kevin Ssekimbega and Isaac Wagoina handed the Red Eagles their seventh win of the season.
Musoke broke the deadlock for the hosts just 8 minutes from kickoff before Ssekimbega added the second in the 22 minutes.
Wagoina Isaac added the third goal to hand Express FC a 3-0 lead at the break.
Luutu Abasi pulled one back for the visitors but that was not enough as Express FC held on to settle for a 3-1 win at the stoppage time and condemn UPDF FC to their eleventh defeat this campaign.
Victory lifts Express FC to the 7th place in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log standings with 29 points after 19 games while UPDF FC are rooted at the bottom of the log with 10 points from 19 matches.
Express FC are back in action on Sunday 3rd March as they visit BUL FC at FUFA Technical Center in the Stanbic Uganda Cup R16 clash before facing SC Villa in their league encounter at Wankulukuku stadium on Saturday 9th March the same day UPDF FC will host Busoga United FC at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds in their next league encounter.
