Arafat’s Late Strike Seals Thrilling Win For KCCA After Express Fight Back At Wankulukuku
Usama Arafat was on target for KCCA FC in a thrilling 4-3 win against Express FC at Wankulukuku stadium on Saturday evening.
KCCA FC started the better side and got an early lead from Etienne Katenga’s strike off Ashraf Mugume’s delivery just one minute from kickoff.
But Express FC responded through Isaac Wagoina’s brilliant header off Isma Kawawulo’s cross in the 23rd minute.
John Asiimwe put the host ahead capitalizing on defensive error to hand Express FC a 2-1 lead in the 33 minutes.
Four minutes later the Red Eagles extended their lead through Marvin Oashaba to settle for a 3-1 lead in the first stanza.
However five minutes from the break Muhammad Shaban reduced the deficit for the visitors after heading home Mugume Ashraf’s perfect cross.
Just three minutes to the stoppage time Mugume Ashraf levelled matters for the visitors following an error from Express’ custodian Abubakar Yunus.
Moments later, Usama Arafat secured a win for the Kasassiro Boys after capitalizing from defensive error for a 4-3 victory.
Victory lifts KCCA FC to the 9th place in the log standings with 23 points just two points adrift Express FC who are in the 8th position from 17 games
Express FC are back in action on Thursday 22 Feb as they visit Bright Stars at Kavuma Recreational Center while KCCA FC will face Jinja North United in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round 32 clash on Wednesday 14 Feb before hosting Kitara FC in the league on Friday 23 Feb at Phillip Omondi stadium.
