
WENDA Launches West Nile Sports Sector Annual Convention
West Nile Development Association (WENDA) have officially launched the West Nile Sports Sector Annual Convention (WSSAC).
The convention will be hosted by WENDA on Saturday 19th August 2023 at Muni University main hall in Arua City Kickoff is at 9:00 am local time
The revelation was made by WENDA head of secretariat Moses Akuma Odims while addressing press conference on Saturday 5th August at Le Tsuba Hotel in Arua city.
According to Odims, WENDA who will be hosting the event is organizing a sports structure that will constitute all the sports sectors and at the same time a convention to celebrate West Nile champions who have excelled in sports.
The maiden West Nile Sports Sector Annual convention will provide an opportunity for region to celebrate their own son Larry Feni Graig who won two gold medals at the Summer Special Olympics Games in Berlin, Germany on June this year.
Odims noted that the convention will be under the theme “Developing The Future Champions Now” and the need to create pathways for financing the sports sector in the region.

“We are unveiling a sports coordination brand which is called the “West Nile Sports Talent Development Intiative” this intiative is going to be constituted out of all sports sectors in the region that includes Football, Athletics, Netball, Volleyball, Rugby etec,” Odims told reporters.
“The convention that we’re planning to host on 19th August will provide opportunity for the region to celebrate a double Gold winner Larry who won two Gold medals in swimming competition in Germany.”
“We’re organizing a sports convention and at the same time a convention to celebrate the champions that we have and our motto for this convention will be “Developing The Future Champions Now,” he concluded.
Meanwhile the Vice Chairman of West Nile Sports Sector Annual convention Mike Letti assured the public that their will be great personalities within the country to educate and help the region develop.

“We Shall be having big personalities coming around to educate, share with us and to help us develop,” Letti told reporters.”
“We have people like Eng Moses Magogo lined up to be one of the key speakers.”

Joel Gadaffi who is the Public Relation Officer of the West Nile Sports Sector Annual convention believes that the convention will shake the whole country.
He added that the event will kickoff with a procession at Mayor’s garden to create awareness to the public before proceeding to Muni University main hall.
