Mohamed Salem Ekbad: Vipers SC Bolster Attack With Mauritanian Signing
Vipers Sports Club have bolstered their squad with the signing of Mauritanian national, Mohamed Salem Ekbad.
The 25-year-old joins Vipers SC from Mauritania League 1 side, FC Nouadhibou where he bagged 11 goals last season thus bringing with him an impressive track record and a wealth of skills that will enhance the team’s attacking prowess.
He has inked a two-year employment deal until 2025 and becomes the first player from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to sign for a Ugandan club.
“Vipers Sports Club have rounded off the capture of Mauritanian national, Mohamed Salem Ekbad, making him the first player from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to sign for a Ugandan club,’ reads club statement.
The addition of Mohamed Salem Ekbad further strengthens Vipers’ striking department which already boasts of enthralling talents in Karim Ndugwa, Cromwell Rwothomio, Yunus Sentamu, Desire Tety, Milton Karisa and Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez among others.
He turns into membership the seventh new signing for the Venoms after the arrivals of Rodriguez, Luiz Otavio alias Tinga, Richard Matovu, David Bagoole, Grant Matsiko and Paul Patrick Mbowa.
Vipers SC will symbolize Uganda in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League tournament and have been drawn against Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana in the First preliminary round
