Arua Hill Dismiss Reports Of Selling Innocent Media To Italian Club Lucera Calcio

Arua Hill Sports Club have denied reports of selling their rising star Innocent Media to Italian club Unione Sportiva Lucera Calcio.

The promising youngster is reportedly set to travel to Italy on Saturday to catch up with his new teammates at Lucera Calcio.

This development comes few days after the Italian lower division side confirmed that they are on the verge of signing Innocent Media from Arua Hill SC.

Lucera Calcio made the announcement via their official Facebook page on Friday 30th June.

“A new lion is coming to town. Straight from Uganda Premier League,” Lucera Calcio captioned on their official Facebook page on June 30, with a photo of Media.

However in an official statement posted on Arua Hill’s verified Facebook page, the Leopards dismissed the reports claiming that their star is on the verge of joining Lucera Calcio stating that the player is still under two years contract with them.

“Disregard the information from the Italian side Lucera Calcio stating that they are on the verge of signing Innocent Media.” reads part of club statement on facebook.

“Media is under two years contract with us; any club that wants to buy him will have to do a professional transfer procedure where the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and the parent club of the player will be involved to make it amicable.”

“At this point, no “Bosman ruling” is involved concerning the player,”Arua Hill SC concluded.

Last season Innocent Media bagged 9 goals from 17 matches to help his side Arua Hill SC finish 4th on the log standings with 44 points from 28 games.
