Sadick Sempigi Leaves Mbarara City After Leading The Club To UPL
Football tactician Sadick Sempigi has parted ways with newly promoted Uganda Premier League entity Mbarara City FC.
The Ankole Lions head coach Sadick Sempigi has confirmed that he has left the club ahead of the coming 2023/24 season.
The CAF “B” licensed coach departs Mbarara City after leading the club to the local top-tier league.
He made the announcement known to the club via his various and official social media platforms on Sunday evening.
“Everything was a challenge, we fought to the last man, we fought to the last minute, we fought for the club, and we fought our repetition,” Sempigi wrote on Twitter.
“I take much experience, and I want to say it’s a great honor serving you, I wish the club all the best in Uganda premier league,” he concluded.
Sempigi returned to Mbarara City in January last season for a record third time having previously worked at the club as assistant coach under Brian Ssenyondo and Charles Livingstone Mbabazi before independently taking the role as head coach after Ssenyondo’s sacking.
During his time with Mbarara City FC he managed to help the club gain promotion to the top tier league as they finished the 2022/23 FUFA Big league season in the second place on 60 points just a point adrift champions Kitara FC.
The former Arua Hill SC assistant coach’s destination is yet to be known, and it remains to be seen whether he will return to work with a UPL club or a FUFA Big League side.
