
SC Villa Relegates Blacks Power To Keep Title Hopes Alive
Blacks Power Football Club have been relegated back to FUFA Big League after suffering a narrow defeat against Sports Club Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at Wankulukuku stadium on Tuesday evening.
Hussein Mbalangu’s charges needed a win to keep their hopes of staying in the top-tier alive as they dreamed of a great escape.
However, the Jogoos eased past the Lira based entity with a 1-0 win to keep their title hopes.
Charles Bbale bagged the most important goal in the second half to hand the Jogoos the much needed victory and their 17th win this campaign.
Victory elevates SC Villa back to the top of the log on 52 points after 27 games just one win away from winning the UPL title for the first time since 2004.
Defeat meanwhile means Blacks Power have been relegated from the top-flight and will play their football in the Big League next season after just a year in the local top league.
Hussein Mbalangu’s guns currently sit second from the bottom of the log on 23 points after 27 games and have now joined Onduparaka FC as the final team be relegated to the second tier.
Both teams are back in final games on Saturday 27 may as SC Villa host URA FC at Wankuluku stadium while Blacks Power entertain Express FC at Akibua Stadium in Lira City.
