
Kitara, Mbarara City Seal Immediate Return To Uganda Premier League Following Their Respective Wins On Thursday
Kitara Football Club and Mbarara City FC have both secured immediate return to Uganda Premier League for the 2023/24 season, earning automatic promotions after one-year absences.
The two teams recorded various wins on Thursday evening during their respective StarTimes FUFA Big League Mathday29 fixtures
Adjumani TC 0-3 Kitara FC
The Royals earned their promotions after defeating relegated Adjumani Town Council 3-0 at Paridi Stadium.
Paul Mucureezi opened the damages to hand Kitara FC a 1-0 lead in the first half before George Ssenkaaba and Paddy Muhumuza handed Kitara FC the much needed win as they got promoted to the top tier.
Victory means Kitara FC remain at the top of the log on 58 points after 28 games while Adjumani remain second from the bottom of the log on 26 points from 28 matches.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday 18 as Adjumani Town Council will visit Luweero United at Luweero Ground while Kitara FC will host Kaaro Karungi at Kigaaya playground.
Kaaro Karungi 0-2 Mbarara City
Elsewhere, Henry Kitegenyi converted from the spot in the first half while skippee Jude Ssemugabi add the second as Mbarara City eased past Kaaro Karungi to earn promotions to the top tier.
The result means Mbarara City remain in the second spot on 57 points after 29 games while Kaaro Karungi are in 11th position on 37 after 29 games.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday 18th May when Kaaro Karungi visit Kitara at Kigaaya playground while Mbarara City host Nothern Gateway at Kaykeka stadium.
