Blacks Power’s UPL Survival Hopes Dented By Onduparaka FC Defeat
Blacks Power Football Club’s chances of StarTimes Uganda Premier League survival suffered a huge blow as they were edged out by Onduparaka Football Club.
Hussein Mbalangu’s charges collapsed to a 1-0 narrow defeat to already relegated Onduparaka FC at AbaBet Greenlight stadium on Friday evening.
Hassan Kakooza bagged the only goal of the clash to hand the Caterpillars their fourth win this campaign.
Kakooza’s goal was his first club goal since joining the Caterpillars from NEC FC in January this year and it came in the 43rd minute when he brilliantly found the back of the net off Rashid Okocha’s corner kick delivery for a 1-0 win.
Victory saw Onduparaka FC remain at the base of the log on 19 points from 27 matches while Blacks Power are in the second place from the bottom of the log on 23 points after 26 games.
Onduparaka FC will play their final game at the local top flight on Saturday 27th May as they visit Uganda People’s Defense Force Football Club at Bombo Military Baracks Play Grounds.
Blacks Power meanwhile will host Sports Club Villa on Tuesday 23rd May in a rescheduled encounter at AkiBua Stadium before completing their season away to Express FC at Wankulukuku stadium on Saturday 27th May 2023.
