Bright Stars 0-2 URA FC: Tax Collectors Return To Winning Ways
Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club returned to their winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Bright Stars FC at Kavuma Recreation Center on Saturday.
Dada Ibrahim and Kabon Living aka Messi were on target to hand the Tax Collectors their sixth win this campaign.
Bright Stars started the better side and missed an opportunity to open the lead through Yasin Mugume’s brilliant freekick that was well saved by goalkeeper Nafian Ajaib Alionzi just three minutes to kickoff.
But the Tax Collectors settled up and established their dominance over midfield, effectively using spaces between Bright Stars’ lines.
Andrew Kyambadde came to rescue of the hosts after clearing off the ball in the empty line from Viane Ssekajuko’s effort who took the advantage of a mistake from Bright Stars custodian Sanon Mulabi.
The visitors dominance eventually paid off as they found the back of the net through Dada Ibrahim who headed home Ssekajuko’s cross for a 1-0 lead in the 38 minutes.
Kabon then doubled the lead through a penalty kick when Ssekajuko was brought down in the forbidden area to hand URA FC a 2-0 lead in the first stanza.
After the break, Bright Stars pushed to pull one back but Emmanuel Loki missed to find the back of the net off Nelson Senkatuka’s delivery.
The Tax Collectors then successfully controlled the game to victory, bouncing back from their uninspiring home defeat against Busoga United on their return to Mehta stadium that put an end to their perfect start to the second round.
Victory lifts URA FC to the 5th position on 26 points from 19 games while Bright Stars in the 10th place of the log on 24 points after 18 matches.
Bright Stars are back in action on Tuesday 4th April as they visit SC Villa at Mutesa II stadium Wankulukuku while URA FC host Wakiso Giants at Mehta Stadium the next day in their next encounter.
