
Uganda Cup: Two Red Cards, Late Score And Perfect Start For Masaba As BUL Stun Onduparaka To March To Last 8
Eastern Giants BUL Football Club stunned West Nile’s Giants Onduparaka FC with a 1-0 defeat in the round 16 of Stanbic Uganda Cup clash played at their backyard.
A chaotic and daunting trip to Arua ended 1-0 at AbaBet Greenlight stadium as substitute Martin Aprem scored in the 80th minute to hand the visitors a place in the quarter finals and a perfect start to Simeon Masaba as interim head coach of BUL FC.
In a tense clash there were two red cards awarded, one for Emmanuel Kalyowa who received his marching orders for a dangerous foul in the 35th minute and the other for Onduparaka’s Rashid Okocha for was sent off lately for unsporting behavior.
Earlier, Ibrahim Nsimbe had put the ball behind the net but his goal was ruled out for offside in the 75th minutes before Aprem found the back of the net just 10 minutes to stoppage time.
Victory saw BUL FC progress to the quarter-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup while Onduparaka FC bow out of the tournament.
Onduparaka FC are back in action on 31st March as they visit at Wankuluku stadium in the league action while BUL FC are equally back in the league action as they visit SC Villa at Aki Bua stadium on Sunday 19th March.
