Uganda Cup: Three 2nd division clubs progress to last 8.
At the end of the Stanbic Uganda cup round of 16, three FUFA Big League clubs are among the eight in the quarter finals.
They are Calvary Fc, Adjumani Town Council Fc and Police Fc.
The other five clubs are from top flight. They include Vipers SC, BUL FC, Soltilo Bright Stars Fc, Express Fc and KCCA FC.
Calvary Fc eliminated fellow Big League side Kitara Fc 8-7 in penalty shootouts after a one-all draw in normal time in the game played at Midigo play ground in Yumbe.
Adjumani Town Council Fc beat region League entity Nunyatuguru United from Fort Portal 4-3 in penalties after the two had settled for a burren draw after ninety minutes.
Police fc who were the last team to qualify to the quarter finals, were 2-0 winners over Ndejje University Fc at Kavumba recreation ground.
Last season 3rd division side then Booma Fc made it to the semi final of the Uganda cup only to be eliminated champions BUL FC.
Proline Fc was the last club not from top flight to win the Uganda cup. They beat Bright Stars Fc 5-4 in penalties after a one-all draw in normal time in the final
